Our Menu
At Emma Jo’s House, mealtimes are an important part of the day, supporting children’s health, wellbeing and social development. We provide balanced, nutritious meals and snacks that follow government guidance on healthy eating for children and are in line with EYFS requirements, ensuring children receive the energy and nutrients they need to grow, play and learn.
We follow Safer Food Better Business and food hygiene guidance, and all food is prepared and stored safely in line with current regulations. Mealtimes are relaxed and social, giving children opportunities to practise independence, table manners and communication, while enjoying a positive relationship with food.
Our sample menu shows the types of meals and snacks we offer, and this is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains varied, inclusive and developmentally appropriate. We are happy to cater for allergies, dietary requirements and cultural or family preferences, working closely with parents to meet each child’s individual needs.
We have also taken the decision to NOT charge additionally for our meal service if you are accessing the Free Early Years Funding or privately paying our hourly rate. We believe that shared meal times are at the heart of our practice at Emma Jo's House and should be available to all. Of course you still have the right to provide your own meals if you prefer.
If you would like to learn more about the guidance behind our menu choices, we are happy to share the information we use to shape our approach. Our meals and snacks are planned in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) nutrition guidance and the latest Safer Eating recommendations for early years settings. These documents explain how balanced nutrition, portion sizes and safe eating practices support children’s health, development and wellbeing. You are welcome to explore these resources to see how they inform the meals we provide.
